Bidding prayers: 14th Sunday in Ordinary time, 5th July 2020

Lord God we remember your Son Jesus declaring “Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest.” We live in a time of great anxiety and uncertainty and bring our prayers with hope and confidence in your eternal love for us.

We pray that as we are once more begin to be able to gather as the Parish Family of St Bernard, that we will all keep well and healthy and safe, may the day come when all feel able to come together. Lord hear us

We pray for political leaders throughout the world that they may be guided by wisdom and compassion to create peace in and between the countries they represent.  Lord hear us

We pray for all those involved in giving and receiving education in schools, colleges, universities and apprenticeships that they might find safe solutions to the challenges caused by the coronavirus. Help all students to experience hope in their futures. Lord hear us

We pray for the homeless in our city and especially for those working to solve the problems they face. May resources be found to support projects that will be life enhancing and provide greater security for these vulnerable members of our society. Lord hear us

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and intentions……. Lord hear us

We ask Mary our Mother to watch over and guide us as we pray; Hail Mary………………

Heavenly Father, you send your Spirit to bring new life into our world; may we always rejoice to know your love and protection in our lives. We make this prayer and all our prayers through Christ our Lord  Amen
