Bidding prayers: 19th Sunday in Ordinary time, 9th August 2020

Let us bring all our hopes and prayers to the Lord who holds us always in His care.

READER

We pray for our Holy Father, Pope Francis that he may be strengthened by the Holy Spirit to proclaim to all peoples the joy of the Gospel. Lord in your mercy

We pray that all world leaders will remain vigilant with the threat of a second wave of the Coronavirus. May they be steadfast in protecting the health and wellbeing of their people whilst safeguarding livelihoods and economy. Lord in your mercy

We pray for those who suffer from hunger as a result of poor harvests. May they be supported to feed their families and find ways to secure a better quality of life. We remember especially those who work for CAFOD and other aid agencies: may they be blessed in all their work. Lord in your mercy
 
We pray for victims of violence and injustice: that they will find the support and strength they need to make a fresh start in a life that is free from harm. May we respond generously to the needs of our neighbour regardless of faith, creed or colour. Lord in your mercy

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and intentions………. Lord in your mercy

In asking the Prayers of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, let us remember the people of Lebanon: Hail Mary…………………………
