Bidding Prayers: 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time, 22nd August 2021

CELEBRANT

Turning to the Lord who is mercy and love, let us place all our trust in Him as we pray for our needs and the needs of the world.

READER

We bring before God the life of our church and all churches worldwide. We give thanks for the extraordinary reality it represents and we pray that we will be faithful as communities of Christ.  Lord in your mercy

We pray for the thousands in Afghanistan who are desperately trying to flee the country after the Taliban insurgency. May the families living in makeshift camps in Kabul find safety and be supported in their quest for freedom. We remember the refugees that have been brought to Manchester and pray that their future will be filled with hope. Lord in your mercy

We give thanks for the love and care of our families. Help us to appreciate them and work hard to overcome any problems that exist.  May our families always be a source of love, support and hope for the future. Lord in your mercy

We pray for all young people who have received their examination results recently. May they be guided on a successful path to future learning whereby they can realise their true potential. As they embark on the next stage of their life may they know the love of God and feel him ever beside them. Lord in your mercy

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to Lord our personal prayers and intentions……. Lord in your mercy

We ask Mary our mother to watch over and guide us as we pray; Hail Mary…………
