Bidding Prayers: 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time, 17th September 2023

CELEBRANT

Let us bring our prayers with confidence to God our Father, who is full of mercy and hope.

READER

We pray for Pope Francis and all Church leaders that they will actively support and encourage our young people and families. May they listen and respond to the challenges faced by a new generation and provide guidance and help. Lord in your mercy

We remember the victims of recent events following the floods in Libya and the earthquake in Morocco. We pray that relief and support from rescue services will help them to secure a place of safety and begin the process of rebuilding their lives. May lessons be learnt from these tragedies to ensure improvements in infrastructure and the future safety of vulnerable people. Lord in your mercy

We pray for the sick and housebound especially those experiencing loneliness and isolation. We pray that they will find the support and strength of Christ in those that care for them and know that they are remembered in our prayers. Lord in your mercy

We ask that we will always be open to forgiveness and be willing to show mercy to those who hurt and offend us. May we always be prepared to open a dialogue that will start the process of renewal and healing. Lord in your mercy

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and those presented today in our Parish Book of Intentions ............. Lord in your mercy

We bring our prayers to our blessed mother Mary as we pray .................... Hail Mary...............
