Bidding Prayers: 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time, 1st October 2023

CELEBRANT

Let us turn to our Heavenly Father and present to him the needs of the world, the church and our local community.

READER

For the Church, on the eve of a new phase in the synodal journey, that the presence of the Gospel, alive and at work in her, may make her like the vineyard in the parable, a vital place where all men and women who seek meaning in their life find a place, a word, and a breath of hope. Lord hear us

We pray for all those striving to protect the earth our common home, that God may strengthen us all to be guardians of the precious gift of creation. Lord hear us

For the bishops and all the participants in the Synodal Assembly, that proposals may spring forth from their listening to the Holy Spirit, so that the entire People of God, in a dynamism of communion, may feel that they are truly participating in the life of the Church and be a living and attractive witness to the newness of the Gospel in the worl. Lord hear us

As we celebrate the feast day of St Therese of Lisieux we pray that we may be inspired by her to walk the ‘Little Way,” performing small tasks for the benefit and service of others. Through these acts of charity and kindness may we become more caring and mindful of the needs of our family, friends, neighbours and the vulnerable in our local community. Lord hear us

We pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and those presented today in our Parish Book of Intentions……………… Lord hear us

We ask Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary to pray with us; Hail Mary………………
