Bidding Prayers: 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time, 9th October 2022

CELEBRANT

We come before the Lord today conscious of our need of healing at many levels in our lives. May we now bring those needs to our loving Father with confidence and hope.

READER

Pope Francis has appealed for a just peace in Ukraine that is based upon mutual respect and dialogue. May his words and those of peacemakers across the world bring an end to hostility and bloodshed. Lord hear us

We pray for all people suffering from the effects of drought in the world especially in East Africa. May God grant us the gift of compassion, that we might be moved to share our bread with the hungry and support the work of those who seek to end food poverty. Lord hear us

St John Henry Newman, whose feast day is celebrated today reminded us that “God wills our happiness, but we neither know what our happiness is, nor the way.” We pray for ourselves and for all we know and love, that God may guide our thoughts, words and actions at every moment of our lives especially during this time of uncertainty and challenge. Lord hear us

We remember all those in our local community who are finding difficulty with increasing costs of living especially those with health issues and job insecurity. May they receive the help and support they need to ensure the security and wellbeing of their families. Lord hear us

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and those in our book of intentions…… Lord hear us

We ask Our Lady of the Rosary to pray especially for the good people of Creeslough County Donegal in their sadness and for our own intentions; Hail Mary………………….
