Bidding Prayers: 2nd Sunday of Easter, 19th April 2020

Celebrant

Risen lord, as we celebrate your Divine Mercy, we come before you, knowing that you love us far more than we can possibly imagine. We know that your mercy and compassion embraces our beautiful but troubled world offering us healing and new life.

READER

As Pope Francis challenges our troubled world to be merciful and compassionate to those who are in need or suffering through discrimination, disadvantage and disability, let us pray that all Church leaders will inspire peace, greater understanding and hope. We Pray: Risen Lord hear our prayer

We pray for all NHS staff and carers who are overcoming so many challenges and risking their own lives to support their patients. May their courage and kindness be rewarded and inspire us to be considerate and loving with those closest to us at this time. We Pray: Risen Lord hear our prayer

We pray for victims of domestic violence that their dignity be upheld and injustices come to an end. We remember those working to challenge crime and antisocial behaviour and pray that their efforts be rewarded by creating safer, peaceful communities. We Pray: Risen Lord hear our prayer.

We remember those who are isolated at this time and pray that God’s love will support them. Help us to recognise loneliness and find ways to keep in touch safely and responsibly: Through our prayers may we communicate our love and concern for our family and friends. We Pray: Risen Lord hear our prayer

Let is pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and those presented today in our parish book of intentions…………………………. We Pray: Risen Lord hear our prayer

We ask Mary Mother of Mercy to watch over and guide us as we pray; Hail Mary ……

Celebrant

Risen Lord, hear us in your mercy and strengthen all for whom we pray, that they may know your presence and peace all their days, through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen
