Bidding prayers: 2nd Sunday in Ordinary time, 17th January 2021

Let us ask God our Father to hear our prayers as we strive to follow Jesus in the path of holiness, to work for God’s kingdom of love, justice and peace.

We Pray for our Bishop John and the priests of the diocese: may the spirit of the Lord be always with them to inspire and strengthen them in their decision making. Lord hear us

We pray for all those working to build and maintain peace in communities throughout the world: may they inspire others by their example to live in harmony with respect for all. Lord hear us

We remember all children who are unable to live within loving families, for those in care, detention centres and the homeless. We pray that those in authority may discharge their duties with compassion and love enabling these young people to have improved life chances, safety and hope for the future. Lord hear us

Let us pray for all NHS, health care workers and volunteers. May moments of personal peace and hope accompany their generous support and help for those in their care. Lord hear us

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and intentions……………. Lord hear us

We ask Mary, Queen of Peace to pray for us; Hail Mary……………

Heavenly Father, you sent your only Son Jesus Christ to bring the message of salvation and peace to our world, we ask you hear our prayers through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen
