Bidding prayers: 4th Sunday in Ordinary time, 31st January 2021

CELEBRANT

Moved by the gift of hope to ask God for all that we need, let us make our prayers and petitions known to him.

READER

We pray for Pope Francis and his bishops that their preaching will inspire a love of learning, a desire to increase our understanding of the faith and to recognise God’s wisdom in their words. Lord hear us

We pray for national and local leaders, scientists and frontline workers in their battle against Covid 19. May wisdom and compassion guide their efforts to bring healing to individuals, families and communities. Lord hear us

May we always understand the power of our words both spoken and written. Help us to use communication in positive ways and have the courage and conviction to speak out against injustice and prejudice in our homes and places of work. Lord hear us

We pray for all those working in Catholic education especially our parish schools. Help them to support the pupils in their quest for knowledge whilst forging a lasting love of God. Grant them the gifts of understanding and patience as they overcome the challenges and difficulties presented at the current time. Lord hear us

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and intentions…………. Lord hear us

We ask Mary our mother to watch over, protect and guide us as we pray; Hail Mary………………………………..

CELEBRANT

Heavenly Father, hear our prayers, may what we ask in faith and hope be granted to us through the love of Christ our Lord who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen
