Bidding prayers: 7th Sunday in Ordinary Time, 20th February 2022

CELEBRANT

Lord, you gave us the commandment to love one another just as I have loved you. Help us to love in the way your gospel has taught us. We bring our prayers to you in trust and hope.

READER

Pope Francis reminds us that as Christians we must find joy in the gifts we receive daily from God. Help us to recognise that our happiness is secure with our family, friends and community. May we reject the material things that are unimportant and prioritise what is vital in our lives. Lord in your mercy

We pray for peace in the Ukraine and her borders and trust that diplomacy will prevent future hostility. We pray that tensions will ease and military units withdrawn. Lord in your mercy

We pray for families who have suffered loss in the recent storms across our country. We ask that lasting solutions be found to protect homes and livelihoods from the effects of storm damage and climate change. Lord in your mercy

We remember those who do not know God and ask that we may share the Good News of your Son and the life that he brings. We pray especially for those who have left the church and trust that they will feel called back into the family that loves and welcomes their return. Lord in your mercy

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and intentions……… Lord in your mercy

We ask our blessed mother Mary to bring peace and healing especially to those who are sick as we pray; Hail Mary…………………

Hear our prayers, O Lord. Open our eyes to see the hope you offer and inspire us to follow you faithfully, through Christ Our Lord Amen
