Bidding Prayers: The Feast of the Epiphany, 7th January 2024

CELEBRANT

We have been brought together by the light of our faith in Jesus. Like the Magi who discovered you in in the humility of Bethlehem, we offer our prayers, confident that you will touch the lives of those who need your strength and love.

READER

The Magi brought frankincense, a symbol of priesthood. We pray for Pope Francis and all religious leaders throughout the world, that they will inspire people to develop a deep commitment to peacefulness and compassion in their dealings with others. We pray: Show yourself to the World

The Magi brought gold, a precious symbol of kingship. We pray for world leaders, that they may work together with generosity and understanding committed to serving the best interests of the people they govern. We pray: Show yourself to the World

The Magi brought myrrh, a symbol of suffering, death and sacred anointing. We pray for people suffering at this time in mind, body and spirit. May we respond to the needs of our families, friends and local community with love and practical help. We pray: Show yourself to the World

May the light and hope of the Gospel give us renewed vision and optimism for the coming year and may our faith be strengthened by the knowledge of God’s unfailing love. Helping us to face the many challenges and difficulties in our lives with confidence. We pray: Show yourself to the World

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and those presented today in our Parish Book of Intentions ………………. We pray: Show yourself to the World

We ask Mary mother of the Saviour to watch over and guide us as we pray; Hail Mary………………..

CELEBRANT

Loving Father please accept these prayers and the offering of our love. May we always be guided by the light of faith as we journey towards your kingdom through Christ our Lord. Amen
