Bidding prayers: The Feast of the Holy Family, 27th December 2020

CELEBRANT

Inspired by the faith and devotion of the Holy Family, let us bring our prayers to God our Father.

READER

We pray for Pope Francis and the Bishops as they seek to respond to the situations faced by families in a changing world: may they be guided by the Holy Spirit. We Pray: Glory to God in the Highest.

We pray for all those people around the world living in places of conflict and violence: may the leaders of all nations have the wisdom and strength to move forward on the path of justice. As we approach 2021 may the Christmas message of peace become reality everywhere and especially in our families and local communities. We Pray: Glory to God in the Highest.

We pray for those who travel far from their homelands in search of safety and work: remembering that the Holy Family lived as refugees in Egypt, may we always welcome them and value the gifts they contribute to our society. We Pray: Glory to God in the Highest.

We pray for all families especially those struggling to cope with the demands and difficulties of domestic life: may they be strengthened by the example and prayers of the Holy Family and know our concern for them. We Pray: Glory to God in the Highest.

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and intentions…….. We Pray: Glory to God in the Highest.

We join our prayers with those of Mary and Joseph as we pray; Hail Mary………………………………

CELEBRANT

Loving Father, as we celebrate the example of the Holy Family, who lived and prayed together, we ask you to hear all these prayers and grant what we ask in faith through your Son, Christ our Lord.  Amen
