Bidding Prayers: Fifth Sunday in Lent, 29th March 2020

CELEBRANT

Let us ask God our Father to let the light of love shine in us and through us to bring hope to all those who walk in darkness.

READER

We pray for our Church leaders and Christians in public life, may their witness always be one of compassion and reconciliation. Help them through the power of your spirit to inspire others to have hope and confidence in God’s love and concern for us. Lord in your mercy

We pray for world governments as they make decisions which will affect the lives of millions of people. May they find solutions which will protect the health of the global community. Lord in your mercy

We thank all health and emergency care workers who have shown such courage and determination as they bring light and hope to their patients. We pray that their efforts will inspire us to be equally caring and concerned for the well being of others. May they receive all the support they need to safeguard their personal health and well- being. Lord in your mercy

We remember the sick, and those who are self- isolating at this time. We pray that God’s peace and healing will support them, bringing hope and light into their lives. Lord in your mercy

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and those presented today in our parish book of intentions(pause)...................................Lord in your mercy

As we rededicate today England as the Dowry of Mary we ask Our Lady’s beautiful prayers: Hail Mary...........................................

CELEBRANT

Heavenly Father, you glorified your Son Jesus Christ through his death on the cross for our salvation; we ask you to hear the prayers we offer in the power of the Holy Spirit, through the same Jesus Christ our Lord.
