Bidding Prayers: Fourth Sunday in Lent, 22nd March 2020

CELEBRANT

As brothers and sisters in Christ, let us call to mind God’s mercies and make our prayers and petitions known to God our Father.

READER

We pray for all Church leaders as they make difficult decisions to protect their communities. May they continue to provide spiritual guidance and support, seeking new ways to communicate the message of God’s eternal love for us. Lord in your mercy

We pray for all mothers and those who have care of children and family members: May Mary’s prayers always uphold and strengthen them especially in times of hardship and family crisis. Help us to demonstrate our loving support and appreciation of mothers not only on this day of celebration but throughout the year. Lord in your mercy

We remember all those members of our family and community suffering financial uncertainty and difficulty at this time. May their jobs and homes be protected. Help us all to be generous in recognising and responding to the needs of others. Lord in your mercy

We pray for all NHS workers as they face so many challenges at this time. Help them to be safe and protected so that they may continue to respond to those who are most vulnerable. We remember all those who are unwell with the COVID 19 virus and place all our hope that they will recover successfully. Lord in your mercy

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and those presented today in our parish book of intentions (pause)......... Lord in your mercy

We ask Mary. Health of the sick to pray with us: Hail Mary..........................................

CELEBRANT

Heavenly Father, fill us with your love and your peace. May we feel your presence alongside us every day. We make our prayer through your Christ Our Lord. Amen
