Bidding Prayers: Palm Sunday, 5th April 2020

Celebrant

As we celebrate our Lord’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem, and devoutly recall his passion, let us offer our prayers through him to the Father.

READER

We pray for our own church community that we may remain united in prayer during this time of separation. Let us give thanks for one another and keep each other close in thought and payer. Lord in your mercy

We pray for all those around the world who have lost their lives through the pandemic, may they rest in peace and their families and loved ones be comforted through their loss and grief. Lord in your mercy

We continue to pray for all carers and health professionals as they overcome the many challenges they face. We ask for God’s support and blessing as they bring light and hope into the lives of those most vulnerable and at risk. May their courage inspire us to be kinder and more considerate of others. Lord in your mercy

We pray for those who hunger for the spiritual meaning in their lives: that the Gospel of this Holy Week may help them to find the true life they are seeking. We also remember members of our families who have given up the practice of their faith and we pray that they will turn again to find the Lord and receive healing in his presence. Lord in your mercy

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and those presented today in our parish book of intentions (pause) .................................... Lord in your mercy

We ask Mary our Mother to watch over and guide us as we pray; Hail Mary...................................................

Celebrant

Loving Father, hear our prayers and what we ask in faith may you grant through your Son who suffered and died for our sake, our Lord Jesus Christ who lives and reigns for ever and ever, Amen
