Day Two hundred and ninety five: Saturday 9th January 2021

The mass injection of the population has begun, and they appear to be making good progress. Certainly it appears that things will gradually begin to improve as more people submit to the process. It must be a logistical nightmare to roll this out, but some of us are old enough to remember that this is nothing new, and that in the late 50’s early 60’s without all the media streams we have today, we found ourselves queuing through the town centre waiting to enter the clinic to receive our sugar lump smothered in anti polio medicine, which up to that time had been rampant and especially among the poorer areas. The programme worked and helped to practically eradicate polio in the UK. Patiently working together and supporting each other and waiting our turn enabled the then very young NHS to triumph; perhaps we need the same gifts in our time?
