Yesterday Pope Francis proclaimed a Holy Year in honour of St Joseph, who not only is the protector of the Church is also a comfort to the dying. Pope Francis has written a most beautiful letter about St Joseph which encapsulates the very essence of this wonderful Saint, if you can take a look at it on our website, in the mean time here is the prayer we will be using:
Let us now make our prayer to him:
Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer,
Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
To you God entrusted his only Son;
in you Mary placed her trust;
with you Christ became man.
Blessed Joseph, to us too,
show yourself a father
and guide us in the path of life.
Obtain for us grace, mercy and courage,
and defend us from every evil. Amen.
