Bidding Prayers: 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time, 18th September 2022

We turn to God our Father in prayer and trust that he will help us to see truly and act justly in our lives.

READER

We give thanks for the successful Papal visit to Kazakhstan and his meeting with the world’s religious leaders. May they help to bring peace and reconciliation wherever there is division and conflict. Lord hear us

As we prepare for the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth tomorrow, we pray that she will be blessed with the gifts of eternal life and peace. We give thanks for her life of dedicated service. She was sustained by her faith in a loving God and we trust that her example will shine as a beacon of hope in the world. Lord hear us

We pray for King Charles III as he takes on new responsibilities and challenges at the same time that he mourns the loss of his mother. May her wisdom and love inspire and sustain him in his future office. We pray that his family will  be united in their support and care of him and one another. Lord hear us

We remember the Royal Family as they mourn the loss of a beloved family member and also pray for all the families in our Parish who have recently lost someone they love. May they know the peace and healing of Christ who brings comfort and hope. Lord hear us

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and intentions………………… Lord hear us

We ask Mary our mother to watch over and guide us as we pray; Hail Mary………………………….

Father, you sent your son to share our earthly life. We lay the complexity and conflicts of our lives before you. May we find peace in your presence through the power of your son Jesus Christ who lives and reigns for ever and ever.  Amen
