Bidding prayers: 25th Sunday in Ordinary time, 20th September 2020

CELEBRANT

We turn to God our Father in prayer and trust that he will help us to see truly and act justly in our lives.

READER

We pray for the Church that she may be renewed in her mission to share the good news of God’s love and forgiveness. May we become more effective ambassadors for Christ by showing our faith in action each day. Lord hear us

We pray for all those who are working for a fair and just world: that they will be guided in all they do by the Holy Spirit. May they be filled with courage and wisdom as they make and act on the decisions which will bring change to improve the lives of those they support and protect. Lord hear us

May we be open to recognise and support those in our community who are suffering in any way. We remember especially those spending time away from relatives and loved ones. We pray that we will respond generously giving practical help where it is needed and keeping those in need in our constant prayers. Lord hear us

We pray for ourselves that we will truly be a people of prayer. Help us to find a space in our busy lives to consciously spend time with God. Lord hear us

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and intentions…………………. Lord hear us

We ask Mary our mother to watch over and guide us as we pray; Hail Mary……………………………..

CELEBRANT

Father, you sent your son to share our earthly life. We lay the complexity and conflicts of our lives before you. May we find peace in your presence through the power of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen
