Bidding prayers: 26th Sunday in Ordinary time, 27th Sept 2020

CELEBRANT

Let us turn to our heavenly Father and present to him the needs of the world, the Church and our local community.

READER

For our Pope Francis and for our bishops who are pastors of local churches, so that the Spirit of Jesus, who emptied Himself to walk with humanity, might impel them to be prophets of a Church that welcomes, protects, promotes and integrates all people, especially the most vulnerable. Lord hear us

At this time of harvest let us pray for those throughout the world who do not have enough to eat or access to clean water. We pray for the aid workers of CAFOD as they carry out their projects in the world’s poorest countries especially those involved in bringing fresh water supplies to isolated communities. Lord hear us

For an ever greater understanding of the situation of internally displaced persons throughout the world and in each of our nations, that the Lord may guide us to be attentive and open our eyes to the needs and sufferings of our brothers and sisters who are forced to move. Lord hear us

We pray for those who are experiencing job insecurity and financial difficulties as a result of Coronavirus, may they find security and hope in the days ahead. Lord hear us

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and intentions……………………….. Lord hear us

We ask Our Lady of Sorrows to pray with us; Hail Mary………

CELEBRANT

Heavenly Father, whose Son Jesus Christ was sent to bring healing and good news to the poor, we ask you to hear the prayers that we offer through the same Christ our Lord Amen
