Bidding Prayers: 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time, 15th October 2023

CELEBRANT

Loving Lord in a world fraught by war and violence help us to know and seek peace in our daily lives. Open our eyes and guide us to hear your call and listen to your voice. Hear the prayers we bring before you.

READER

We pray for Pope Francis as he appeals for peace in the Holy Land. May his words and those of peacemakers across the world bring an end to hostility and bloodshed: we continue to pray for the success of the Universal Synod in Rome. Lord hear us

We remember the many who have died in Israel and Gaza following the Hamas attack. We pray especially for the civilians caught up in the violence and the parents who have lost their children. May humanitarian aid reach those in need to alleviate suffering and distress. Lord hear us

We pray for those who feel isolated, lonely or recently bereaved. May we recognise their need and offer our care and support to listen and ensure they do not feel forgotten. Lord hear us

We remember all those in our local community who are finding difficulty with increasing costs of living especially those with health issues and job insecurity. May they receive the help and support they need to ensure the security and well -being of their families. Lord hear us

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and those presented today in our Parish Book of Intentions……………………. Lord hear us

We offer our prayers especially for peace in the Holy Land to our blessed mother Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary as we pray; Hail Mary……
