Bidding Prayers: 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time, 22nd October 2023

CELEBRANT

On this World Mission Sunday, Pope Francis challenges us to have our “Hearts on fire and feet on the move” as we remember the Church in vulnerable parts of the world. Loving Lord, you call us to have our hearts on fire with love and to be willing to walk towards those who are struggling and so we bring our prayers to you with confidence and hope.

READER

We pray for Pope Francis and all those who are gathered in Rome for the Synod. May the discussions be life giving for the present and future of the Church. Lord hear us

We pray for governments around the world that they may always seek the ways of justice and mercy and by the help of God’s powerful protection lead their country with honesty and integrity. May there be an end to hostilities in the Holy land and Ukraine and a genuine desire for peaceful solutions to the conflicts. Lord hear us

We remember all missionaries, especially those who face hardship and persecution. May they be filled with courage, energy, and enthusiasm that will make them effective and inspirational messengers of the Gospel, bringing hope to the world’s poorest people. Lord hear us

We pray for a deeper understanding and commitment to mission in our own daily lives. May we spread the Good News of God’s love to all those we meet through both our words and actions. Lord hear us

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and those presented today in our Parish Book of intentions……………. Lord hear us

In this month dedicated to the Holy Rosary we ask our Mother Queen of peace to especially watch over the innocent victims of war as we pray; Hail Mary…………………

CELEBRANT

Heavenly Father, watch over, protect and bless us as we live out your message of love and compassion. May we be messengers of your love and hope. We make our prayers through Christ our Lord. Amen
