Bidding Prayers: 2nd Sunday of Easter, 16th April 2023

CELEBRANT

Risen Lord, as we celebrate your Divine Mercy, we come before you knowing that you love us far more than we can possibly imagine. We know that your mercy and compassion embraces our beautiful but troubled world offering us healing and new life.

READER

Pope Francis challenges us to be merciful and compassionate to those who are in need or suffering through discrimination, disadvantage and disability, let us pray that all Church leaders will inspire peace and greater understanding. Risen Lord: hear our prayer

We pray for peace and reconciliation may prevail over war and division. We remember victims of war and oppression around the world especially the people of Ukraine. May the peace of Christ bring healing to those suffering the loss of their loved ones and bring safety and hope in the future. Risen Lord: hear our prayer

As we receive the Eucharist at this celebration, may we like the apostle Thomas, recognise the risen Lord and say as he did:” My Lord and God.” We pray for those who do not yet believe, that they may see Jesus through our words and actions of faith and love. Risen Lord: hear our prayer

We pray for our parish family. May we value each other, build a supporting, loving community and be a living message of peace to our family, friends, neighbours and colleagues. Risen Lord: hear our prayer

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and those presented today in our Parish Book of intentions………………….. Risen Lord: hear our prayer

We ask Mary our mother to watch over us and guide us as we pray; Hail Mary……………………

CELEBRANT

Risen lord, we ask you to mercifully hear our prayers and strengthen all for whom we pray, that they may know your presence and peace all their days, we ask this through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
