Bidding Prayers: 4th Sunday in Ordinary Time, 29th January 2023

CELEBRANT

Heavenly Father be with us as we offer you our prayers and ask you to make us instruments of your peace in our troubled world.

READER

We pray for Pope Francis as he prepares to travel to the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan. May he bring peace and reconciliation where there has so often been conflict and bloodshed. Lord hear us

We pray for peace makers in the many and varied areas of disagreement across the world and in our own community. May their efforts inspire harmony, understanding and a willingness to show greater compassion. Lord hear us

We pray for the continued success of CARITAS as it supports the homeless, alleviates poverty, welcomes strangers and provides help for vulnerable young families. May we respond generously to their appeal today especially in our prayers. Lord hear us

May we always understand the power of our words both written and spoken. Help us to use communication in positive ways and have the conviction to speak out against injustice and prejudice in our homes and places of work. Lord hear us

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and those presented today in our parish book of intentions……………. Lord hear us

We ask Mary our mother to watch over and guide us as we pray; Hail Mary……

CELEBRANT

Heavenly Father, hear our prayers, may what we ask in faith and hope be granted to us through Christ our Lord. Amen
