Bidding Prayers: 5th Sunday in Ordinary Time, 5th February 2023

CELEBRANT

Lord of love you are always patient and merciful. Today we come before you with our needs, confident that you will hear us and listen to our prayers.

READER

May we be inspired by Pope Francis as he urges us to, “Choose to be witnesses of forgiveness, builders of community, people charged with a mission of peace in our world” as he journey’s with the Archbishop of Canterbury and the moderator of the Scottish Church, to witness to peace in South Sudan. Lord in your mercy

We pray that the Good News of the Gospel will bring light into the darkness of our broken world especially to the poor, the homeless and those who lack respect and love. May the light of Christ bring peace and healing. Lord in your mercy

We pray for those working in Catholic education especially our parish schools. Help them to support the pupils in their quest for knowledge whilst forging a lasting love of God. Grant them the gifts of understanding and patience as they overcome the challenges and difficulties presented at the current time. Lord in your mercy

We remember those who are sick in mind and body, for those weighed down by anxiety grief or depression and we ask that they may experience the Lord’s healing and comfort and know the peace that only God can give. Lord in your mercy

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and those presented today in our Parish Book of Intentions……….. Lord in your mercy

We ask that the prayers of our Lady of Lourdes may bring those that are sick the healing and comfort they need as we pray; Hail Mary………
