Bidding Prayers: 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time, 12th February 2023

CELEBRANT

We come before you Lord, with our prayers for our community and the world with confidence, knowing that you hear and understand our needs.

READER

We pray for greater understanding between people of all religions. We offer our thoughts and prayers especially for the Christians worshipping in the Middle East, that their faith may be respected and allowed to flourish. Lord hear us

We pray for all the victims of the recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria. May aid and rescue parties reach the areas requiring greatest relief in the coming days and save as many lives as possible. We ask that those who have survived this disaster will receive the support and help they need to rebuild their lives. Lord hear us

May governments throughout the world learn lessons from the tragedies we have witnessed this week. Safety measures and building regulations upheld to ensure the safety of the people they serve. Help us always to ensure the well -being of those in our care in the workplace and in our homes. Lord hear us

We pray for all those who feel lost and alone in our community. May we recognise the needs of those close to us. We remember especially those working in our local Burnage Foodbank, help us to generously support this successful and vital community project. Lord hear us

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and those presented today in our Parish Book of Intentions………………. Lord hear us

We ask our Lady of Lourdes to bring peace and healing especially to those who are sick as we pray; Hail Mary…………………………..
