Day Fifty: Saturday 9th May 2020

It strikes me that among the thanks and applauding that we give there is a group who have been overlooked, and that is our children and young people. Their world has been turned upside down, and the security and order of school and college have been taken from them. I think about our Lane which during the week is usually filled with the sound of children and youth at various times of the day. This week Xaverian wrote to our College Leavers a very moving letter, reminding them of what they would have been doing this time last year and wishing them well; and our top year at St Bernard’s would have been doing Sats and The Barlow GCSE’s. What we hope and pray for is that their education will not suffer and that the time will soon come when they can take up the challenge again and enjoy each other’s company. “Let the little children come to me………..”
