Tonight we witnessed something extraordinary when countless numbers of people stopped for a moment to applaud the gigantic efforts of our NHS. It was wonderful to be part of. We even had fireworks let off near us! But here is a thought to share: in our day-to-day lives how is it that "thank you" hardly ever is heard? So much is taken for granted; so much is expected; so much is demanded; yet the joy and appreciation shown tonight goes a long in reminding us that “Thank you” can mean a lot more than just two words. It can mean the world when spoken in the words of St John Henry Newman, as “heart speaks to heart”.
