The sixth Station: Veronica wipes the face of Jesus
We adore thee O Christ and we praise thee because by thy Holy Cross thou hast redeemed the world.
No one was going to stop her, pity and mercy and courage radiated out of her. Forget the imprint of the Lords face on the cloth, think of the imprint within her soul, something she would carry for the rest of her life. Her simple act of kindness is what we recall all these years later. It is good to contemplate here that it is the simple acts of kindness that we do each and every day that will open the door to eternal life. “Love begins with a smile”, said St Teresa of Calcutta.
