The fifth Station: Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus carry the Cross
We adore thee O Christ and we praise thee because by thy Holy Cross thou hast redeemed the world.
A foreigner, and outsider is dragged from the crowd and made to help Jesus carry this heavy load; they wouldn’t dare pick on one of their own it had to be a stranger, who had no respect and was hated who was dragged into the journey to Calvary. How do we treat outsiders? What ever happened on this trek, Simon’s sons, Rufus and Alexander, became two of the first missionary disciples. The God of surprises! Lord have Mercy, Lord have Mercy
