Day Forty one: Thursday 30th April 2020

Today Captain Tom reached the grand age of 100: much has been written about him, and his birthday has been celebrated in many wonderful ways. In the end he was an accidental hero, he only wanted to raise Β£1000 and finished up so far with 31 million, and now he is also an Hon. Colonel. A few weeks ago he was just another old age pensioner living in a home seeing his days out. He is a wonderful example. In this Parish there are many people who are pensioners who don’t give up and continue to work for the Lord and set a good example. I just wanted to say things would not be the same without you, never underestimate how important you are to other generations, and never think you have nothing to offer. Captain Tom is a representative of people who know about sacrifice and duty and never giving up. Likewise Simeon and Anna in the Temple were judged over the hill, but they saw their dreams come true at the later part of their lives in the Presentation of Jesus. So thumbs up: you are still shining Stars until the day the Father makes you a Shooting Star right into heaven. Thank you Captain Tom and thank you all for being you.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘βœ¨βœ¨βœ¨βœ¨πŸ’œ
