Day Forty: Wednesday 29th April 2020

One of the knock on effects of the Pandemic is that humans are not out and about like they used to; thanks be to God, the vast majority are being sensible, though I noticed last weekend we had an outbreak of daft motorbike racers down the road! As a result of our isolation have you seen the photos on the web of how the sea has recovered its freshness around the country and at times is Mediterranean Blue, rivers are cleaner, for the first time in years, sea creatures are appearing in the canals in Venice, birds are returning to areas they have not been to for ages, and in more exotic unpopulated holiday destinations wildlife are returning to ancient homes, there is a great photo of two hippos in a luxury swimming pool! God’s handy work has a wonderful habit of making come backs when you least expect it; it would be wonderful to think that at the end of the pandemic a new covenant could come about between human kind and nature when we recognise these words from the Book of Genesis: “God saw all he had made and indeed it was very good.”
