Day One hundred & forty seven: Friday 14th August 2020

Have you ever had one of “those days”? Well Friday was no exception it began badly, when having put my glasses down, I managed to spray myself all over with hair spray thinking it was deodorant! Five minutes after another shower, I couldn’t find my glasses and had to put my spares on. For the rest of the day I kept bumping into things and I couldn’t hold a pen without dropping it, and then I fell over my own feet! All I could think about all day was going to bed and starting again tomorrow: when I say starting I don’t mean with the hairspray! It’s strange how these days come around from time to time, and thankfully we do come through them. I think it’s the same with our spiritual life we seem to keep moving along and then we meet a day when we can’t say a prayer for toffee and everything seems upside down. Well like my Friday, you just have to get through it and make a fresh start tomorrow. As the old hymn reminds us:

“So for tomorrow and its needs I do not pray; but keep me, guide me, love me, Lord, just for today.”

And if you could find my glasses that would be helpful!
