Day One hundred & twenty six: Friday 24th July 2020

Words that we speak to one another can be, passing and workmanlike, homely, instructive and educational, precious and loving, angry and destructive; the choice is ours. As a young child I had a stutter, I knew what I wanted to say but couldn’t get it out, these days I probably would have received some form of therapy but not then. It was the patience of my Mum and Dad and a great teacher that made the difference though I notice occasionally that I can sometimes search for the beginning of a word when stressed out, but I know the triggers and that helps. Now the Word of God is very challenging and we need to have patience in coming to a deep understanding of it, we humbly recognize that it can trip us up at times or make us question, but once we receive it into our hearts, it gives us an eloquence that is both affirming and challenging and allows us to overcome any difficulty in faith.
