Day Thirty six: Saturday 25th April 2020

St. Mark’s Day today, and rightly we give thanks for such an inspiring evangelist. His version of the Gospel sets us up beautifully and encourages us to go deeper into the story of Jesus as we read the other Gospels and the Acts of the Apostles. You can see that these ordinary every day people experienced something wonderful that they could not contain: they expressed it not only through the four Gospels but by their lives which meant a sacrifice they could not have thought of before. We are people of the Gospel too and in these times we are challenged to love the Gospel and to sacrifice something of ourselves for others, please don’t underestimate the grace of God within you. In the mean time why not take a bit of your quiet time and read the Gospel of Mark, chapter by chapter?
