The fourth Station: Jesus meets his Mother
We adore thee O Christ and we praise thee because by thy Holy Cross thou hast redeemed the world.
That painful moment when their eyes met, and yet Mary was unable to hold him, caress him, and whisper in his ear that all will be well. Instead no words need to be spoken; presence is eloquent enough at this time. Sometimes we can be frightened of visiting someone who is very sick, or suffering bereavement or feeling broken, we don’t know what to say, here we are taught that “presence” is enough.
