The thirteenth Station of the Cross: Jesus is taken down from the Cross
We adore thee O Christ and we praise thee because by thy Holy Cross thou hast redeemed the world.
The pieta that is the image of Mary cradling her dead Son is well known to us. The image speaks volumes without the need of words. Perhaps this is a good Station to remember parents who have had to hold their dead children, no matter what age, in their arms and to pray for a comforting and a reassurance that they will meet them again. Lord have mercy, Lord have mercy.
