The ninth Station: Jesus falls the third time
We adore thee O Christ and we praise thee because by thy Holy Cross thou hast redeemed the world.
In a beautiful broken way, Jesus expresses his love for us in this Station: he is not going to be beaten by this agonizing walk to Calvary for you and I are worth more that this fall; he is going to keep going out of sheer love. Now isn’t that true of us at times? We may be exhausted by what we have to put up with, but out of love we keep going. I am thinking here about families and loved ones and friends, who have to cope with someone’s addiction, so often you meet incredible heroism as people stay the course even, when they have been knocked down so many times, and have had to apply tough love. Lord have mercy, Lord have mercy.
