In this month of Our Lady of Sorrows it is easy to forget that it also the month of the Angels, and that at the end of the month we celebrate the Archangels. Angels are great friends to us and the Lord only uses them on very special occasions to show us his love and concern for us. Perhaps the time is right to rediscover this old prayer we I share with you today:
“St. Michael the Archangel defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host - by the Power of God - cast into hell, Satan and all the evil spirits, who roam the world seeking the ruin of souls.”
