St Martin de Porres day today: a little Saint who did the little things of life well, who cared for the poor, comforted the sick, and looked after the door of the House in such a way that everyone was welcome. He was born in poverty, of mixed parents, brought up by a single mother, uneducated, and yet had a heart as big as the Rock of Gibraltar! He is a great model for our times: we need healers in our broken world.
