Bidding Prayers: 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time, 8th August 2021

Let us bring with confidence all our hopes and prayers to the Lord who always holds us in his love and care.

We pray for our Holy Father Pope Francis that he may be strengthened by the Holy Spirit to proclaim to all peoples the joy of the Gospel. Lord in your mercy

We pray for all those who suffer from hunger as a result of poor harvests. May they be supported to feed their families and find ways to secure a better quality of life. We remember especially those who work for CAFOD and other aid agencies, may they be blessed in all their work. Lord in your mercy

We pray that the Holy Spirit may guide the world’s leaders on the path to the elimination of nuclear weapons from our world, that civilian populations may never again have to live in fear of annihilation and that resources may be redirected to saving lives and promoting human flourishing. Lord in your mercy

We remember all those who are currently suffering with long Covid and the detrimental effect it has had on their lives. We pray that scientists and doctors will gain new knowledge and understanding to help patients’ rehabilitation and recovery. Lord in your mercy

Let us pause for a moment in silence as we bring to the Lord our personal prayers and intentions……………… Lord in your mercy

We ask that the Immaculate Heart of Mary will draw us closer to her Son as we pray; Hail Mary…………………………….

Heavenly Father we give you thanks for your unfailing love and compassion. We ask for your help in all that we do enabling us to be true Christians. We make this prayer through Christ Our Lord. Amen
